how does the fungicheck test strip work?

FungiCheck is a immunochromatographic test kit for professionals to detect Dermatophytes in a nail sample.

It's a completely new and innovative test that you can apply to test your clients in your own practice.

You can watch our instruction video.

Dermatophytes are fungi that require keratin for growth. These fungi can cause infections of the skin, hair and the nails.

Because Dermatophytes need keratin to grow, they are limited to hair, nails and the superficial skin. Dermatophytes are referred to as "Tinea" infections.

The FungiCheck test strip is limited to the testing of the presence of Tinea Unguium (Onychomycosis) in the nails.

(With the exception of Candida & yeasts)

what does the test kit contain?

The FungiCheck Test Kit contains 10 complete tests. Including test strips, extraction liquid, 10 test tubes and 10 stirrers.

The test must always be performed by a professional with experience in sterile testing. The test is very easy to use.

With just 1mg nail sample and 10 minutes of your time you can already read the result of the test strip.

The test strip in the FungiCheck kit consists of a sample layer, a reagent strip, a decision strip and an absorbent pad.

The extra contol line assures you that your sample is appropriate absorbed by the test strip (see picture above).
